Self-Fulfilment

Building a Strong Inner LIfe through Poetry & Talk, Chronicle the Black Woman's Rise, Empowered Woman, Healing Arts, The Great Awakening 2016, Womanist Empowerment

There is a driving force within you.

A hunger that you try to fill,

you eat more

smoke more,

drink more,

But still the hunger remains.

This hunger is the need to…

reach your full potential as a unique human being.

Not a carbon copy,

but an original.

To live in this body

is a wonderful thing,

to experience a range of emotions,

to stand in awe

at what you have become

to gaze back over your life

see the joy and pain,

love and loss,

is a life well-lived.

Restore Our Connection To The World

Back to Nature, Building a Strong Inner LIfe through Poetry & Talk, Chronicle the Black Woman's Rise, Empowered Woman, Healing Arts, Monologue, Spiritual Awakening, Womanist Empowerment

Our lives have become disconnected from the source.

People’s well being have been given over for Power and Money.

Looking outside oneself for happiness and pleasure.

Will not suffice.

This hunger grows stronger each day.

Requires more and more.

Until we have gobbled up the earth.

Then we begin to feed upon the Human Soul.

Which has left a sort of Spiritual Poverty.

Which is worst than being poor.

A nation controlled by this force.

Seeks nothing but violence and war.

A machine driving our consciousness.

It is never to late to put on the brakes.

The Womanist Empowerment Network

Has her fingers on the Pulse.

Knows the value of Human Life.

How to restore the Human Spirit.

Breathe life into.

Restore!

Revive!

Bring back from death.

Live life with meaning and purpose.

Restore the Earth.

Fertilize the soil.

The lotus flower blooms.

From the murky waters of life.

Understanding: A Spiritual Practice

The effortless way, by way of the heart
How to transcend your conditioning.

People generally believe that the way they view the world is the correct way to see.

With awareness you come to understand that each religion, each personal view shows us something else and from different angles so that our development and our understanding becomes Universal.

On the Spiritual Retreat you are guided in a way to let go of the need to be right and the self- righteous mindset of the Ego.

You become aware of the unchanging nature of the self and experience a boundless freedom. Independent of what is going on around you.

You are in the center watching as molecules hover, you stay centered with the knowledge that you are the observer.

As the inner world become grounded, you see from the perspective that we are all the same, wanting life and happiness.

COMING INTO WHOLENESS

@ A Spiritual Retreat

I’ve come to the awareness

Of where I am,

How I got here,

The decision I made.

The actions I took.

I accept my life.

My words

Have come from a place

Inside of me.

I accept my life.

My experiences

Have been my choice.

I accept my life.

Every word

Every deed

The stories I told myself

I am responsible for.

I accept my life.

I’ve taken the task of

Coming to this life.

Every obstacle,

A test.

To bring me to the

Awareness of the Self.

A nature that has been

Silent in the background.

Watching,

Listening,

Observing,

Experiencing,

Everything thing in life.

The joy,

The sorrow,

The heartache,

Is complete!

I accept my life.

I take the lead

And guide me to…

Wholeness.

Acceptance.

Compassion for myself.

I love and accept my life!

A Source of Creative Expression, Deep Connection & Transformation

This Mandala symbolism was first created by Carl Jung a noted psychologist and he began to explore the unconscious.

Creating a Mandala is a way for a person to strengthen the connective bond between themselves and the natural world and bring into the conscious mind that which is hides where it can then be examined.

When we remove ourselves from the busyness to slow down and tune into the natural environment answers emerge.

The Heart

Building a Strong Inner LIfe through Poetry & Talk, Chronicle the Black Woman's Rise, Empowered Woman, Healing Arts, My Internal Life, The Great Awakening 2016, Vision Board Retreat, Womanist Empowerment

I lived with this deep, dark cavern
In the depths of my soul
A vastness that would never be filled.

Like traveling around the globe
Looking for something,
Anything,
That would fill the void.

Filled it with sex.
A pleasure
That was
Ravenous,
Insatiable.

An appetite
For danger,
Unprotected.
Destroyer of happiness.

Caught in a vortex spinning,
Out of control.

Searching for a life vest
In the middle of the ocean.

Drifting on a current
Tossed and turned.

Propelled to the
Middle of the ocean.
Drowning in a
Pool of desire
That would never be filled.

Loneliness consumed
Happiness.

So adrift
On an
Island.
Alone.

Many moons have appeared
Then disappeared.
Many seasons have changed.

Trends have come and gone
Money has reappeared.

Left is a heart broken opened
Seeping
Till it had nothing left.

So it begins to heal itself
From the inside.

Closing the wounds
Applying temporary bandages
Just for some relief.

Until the heart
Has a steady beat
“Put Your Finger on the Pulse
and Feel the Beat,
The Rhythm of Life.”

A path of peace, love and joy
Is the way this heart
Has decided to live.

Knowing desires brings,
Both joy and pain.
Inseparable
Like a fish and water.

Looking from a distance
At the hurt,
Releasing the pain.

A little at a time.
Like squeezing the heart.
Letting the pain ooze out.

Each day a little brighter,
Each moment
Fills a tiny space.

Until the heart is full.
And can rest.
Each day a bit stronger.
No longer searching outside itself
for Happiness.

Each day the sun rises and greet the new day,

Yesterday but a memory.

I lay awake for a moment,

Before opening my eyes.

A mood settles in me,

Like the dew on the grass.

Lifting as I become more conscious,

To reveal the cool morning crispness.

How shall I spend the day?

Empty, it is.

Except for the sensations that creep

Into my mind awakening the spirit within.

A morning spent in prayer and appreciation,

For a new day of life.

Lately, it has become difficult to face the frigid air,

My first winter in ten years.

I miss the sunshine of Florida,

The blue skies and waves washing over the beach.

I finish my prayer of appreciation,

And gratitude, vision, and peace.

I venture out into the gray morning,

My senses awash with the crisp morning air.

The wind washes over me,

Like a sheet billowing in the wind flapping between the fibers of my being.

The fresh air,

A sort of newness.

I look to the sky,

Clouds fill my vision.

Like a floating wrapping across the sky,

Keeping everything safely in place.

The winter days have left the trees bare and standing still,

In a state of calm,

I take heed and enjoy the winter of my being,

A-tuned to the nature of the day.

Allowing the cold to settle in my bones,

Strengthening my resolve amidst the cold and barren day.

Afterwards, I retreat into the warmth,

A heart filled with peace and contentment.
