Feminine Essence

Laying dormant
Below the surface of the earth and the heels of man
Lays an underdeveloped seed.

The pressure of holding the weight
Of the earth has crystallized its’ nectar
And hardened its’ outer shell.

Each century a circular pattern emerge and
With a tremendous surge of power
Breaks through into the bright sunshine.

Life on the surface of the earth
Brings strange but familiar feelings
So she lives in quiet contemplation.

Among…
The trees, the wind, the rain, the snow
She is a part of nature.

We have kissed the feet of Angels.

walked the dark pathway to the Heavens.

sat with the babies!

nursed the sick.

tended to those who have lost their way.

we have stood on the top of the heap!

looking down at the destruction.

saw bodies lying in the streets,

pools of blood collecting at their feet.

i sat looking deeply in a mirror reflection.

at an image that no longer resembles the heart.

a reflection dark and decaying

from a slow death.

i watch as ashes fall to the ground

nourishing the earth.

into fertile ground

that nourishes the soul.

which has taken root.

begins to push through the soil

into bright sunlight.

reaching,

her life gives life.

her energy restores,EWLOGO

her community

thrives and flourishes.

her voice heals.

her presence encourages

others in the midst

of theses challenging times.

UBUNTU

Empowered Woman, Manifest 2017, The Great Awakening 2016, Ubuntu, Womanist Empowerment

Ubuntu  African Worldview

A belief in the Universal Bond that connects us ALL

Woman Shape Relationships

A key concept associated with “Ubuntu” is how we behave and interact in our various social roles, e.g., daughters traditionally greet their parents and serve them food as a sign of respect and maintain the highest standards of behavior that will be extended or reflected to her family and all the women raised in that family. The daughter is an ambassador. She functions and play that role always. However, this does not apply only to daughters but to all women in general, even among friends and equals such as brother and sister.

Other manifestations of Ubuntu are that it is taboo to call elderly people by their given names; instead, they are called by their surnames. This has the effect of banishing individualism and replacing it with a representative role, in which the individual effectively stands for the people among whom he comes from at all times.

The individual identity is replaced with the larger societal identity within the individual. Thus, families are portrayed or reflected in the individual and this phenomenon is extended to villages, districts, provinces and regions being portrayed in the individual.

This places high demands on the individual to behave in the highest standards and to portray the highest possible virtues that society strives for. ” Ubuntu ” embodies all the invaluable virtues that society strives for towards maintaining harmony and the spirit of sharing among its members.

A Healthy Perspective

“A healthy perspective is the foundation of joy and happiness because the way you see the world is the way you experience the world”. The Book of Joy.

2016 draws to a close with the election of a new president. The much-anticipated day has come and gone. I sit and try to make sense of the world. No longer disillusioned like a little child about the status of a grown up world.

The world we live in is controlled by invisible forces who now show their face. We can either run and hide and look away. But it is very clear the mentality that holds the United States in its’ embrace.

We look to the leadership that is guiding this piece of land, loud and obnoxious. Reminds me of my two grandsons. They are loud and throw a fit. I look at them and wonder of the life they will live. I understand the stages of growth and they want to assert their independence. But unfortunately, they have not learned the way.

The same of the current president. He insults and demeans and this is the leadership we prefer. I think it is a disgrace that we as a nation have descended so low that to get ahead think this is the way.

This is the model that I choose not to follow because it leads to the same place I have been before. We advance as a species, then degrees. We have taken a step backward. Maybe we need to look at the elephant in the room to now that it is there.

Also during this election year, two opposing forces have  come on stage. One is the Native Americans who are protecting the water. Black Lives Matter has become a voice for the silent ones whose lives have died at the hands of law enforcement.

To look at this world is to see the madness play out on a massive scale. As if life is a commodity to be traded on an open market. As if Democracy is just and idea, yet to be realized.

In the grand scheme of thing, Humanity has slowly been evolving. This election has been a cry from the child who had his toys taken away and wants them back. Now that he has them what will he do?

In the grand scheme of things, Humanity is slowly evolving. From being lead by the EGO to giving way to a grandeur way to live. The heart as a guide will show the way.

Can he look at the world outside of his own interest? Can he see everyone’s face? Not see himself as some overlord. To stand before the treasure chest and doll out gifts, just to his friends.

Will all children black and white, brown and tan share in this grand American plan? Or will American cease to exist because of greed and callousness? Not really aware of the times we live in?

This is the Time of Great Awakening and those who remain asleep will not know of the dream. The dreamer is slowly coming out of the coma. She knows the dinosaur is too large to share a plate with everyone sitting at the table.

Mindfulness Transcends

Today begins a new day.

I crawl out of this old skin of anger, hopelessness, and apathy.

Like a beetle that creeps out its’ exoskeleton.

Before that happens,

There must be a transformation on the inside.

A sort of rebuilding of the self.

A shift in awareness from the body,

Which like a beetle creates a-new.

I have been many such bodies.

An infant, a toddler, a teenager now an adult.

Finally, old age settles like the dew on the morning  grass.

Clings for a moment then ascends.

So with this practice of Mindfulness.

You must transcend the limitations of the physical body.

Enter into a Spiritual Body

Detached from the suffering and pain.

Unmoved by the smallness of the ego.

Embrace the vastness of life.

Hold onto the mystery and wonder of the Mind.

Transcend the problems of the flesh

Enter into the sacredness of the

Spiritual Body

MINDFULNESS PART II

Mindfulness, The Great Awakening, The Great Awakening 2016, Womanist Empowerment

Mindfulness is Non-Reactive

Why do I need a retort to anything displeasing ? Why do I feel the need to defend?  As I look further into the experience, I acknowledge that when a person attacks me I feel threatened and need to retaliate, as I do not want to appear weak and be the target of a person’s hate.

What could the person really say that would hurt me? Do I give my power over to the other and let her know where I am wounded and let her continue  to pour salt into an open wound? Will it hurt more? What is hurting about the situation? Do I feel like a victim? Is this person victimizing me?

I look back into my history and I have felt victimized by people. Both by the words and physical violence. I recognize people can hurt me. This was an attitude that I had as a child. I did not have much power then, but now I do.

I look deeper and can see where the words came from and why the girl said those mean things. The girl told me she hated light-skinned girls with long hair. She slung her hate toward me. I look at her and see she is neither light-skinned nor do she have long hair. She is jealous and angry. It is her feelings. I do not own them. I let the comments go like a feather blowing in the wind.

There are many instances when we are the recipient of negative emotions. We can let the emotion spring up without reacting and watch it disappear. It is mindful attention that you become aware what is invisible in your experience and what may be the intentions of another.

A Vision for the World: Master the Inner Game.

Paint a picture on your heart.

The world, slightly different from what American Education taught you.

Schooled on viewing the world through your five senses.

If you could not touch it or feel it nor see it,

It must not be real.

Then something magically happened.

You began to filter experience through your mind.

You could think,

And explain what you saw.

All this was well and good,

For an adolescent coming of age in the world.

There comes a time when you realize,

There is much more to this world.

Another dimension exists between silence and darkness.

The vast inner space,

Yet to be explored.

Lives in our wildest imagination.

Out of the reaches of our five senses.

This other place of mind and heart.

Opens at your beaconing.

The world of the human heart.

Electrical pulsations create a magnetic field.

Each and everything connects.

A live wire touches and ignites a flame,

That burns and warm your body.

Greed, hatred and violence breaks the connection.

It is the heart.

 You must change.

To a ring of love,

That circles the globe

Cause vibrations to rise.

People in world,

Flourish and thrive.

Revives the heart of Humanity.

A Seven Step Personal Transformation

First Step: Powerful Purposefulness, (Finding Your Place in the World)

The essential truth of life is, we each have boundless potential and power to affect change in our lives and the world. There is a bigger vision of benefiting others, which will reduce self-importance. Life then becomes simple and straightforward.

Second Step: Acknowledge the Feminine Aspect of Life. It will bring balance and wholeness to the self as you discover a new source of power. This power is flexibility and clarity in the midst of chaos.

Third Step: Nonfeasance is the failure to act that is part of one’s responsibility and the consequence of not fulfilling your role in life.

Fourth Step: Give Attentiveness to the present with Mindfulness. Real Power is experienced in the present. Mindfulness allows you to connect with the wisdom and compassion of your higher self for better understanding and healing.

Fifth Step: Creative Visualization is the process of finding your inner guide for support and guidance.

Sixth Step: Evolve Beyond Suffering and enter a time of healing: healing that is more about letting go of those things that causes suffering.

Seventh: Align with the Eternal and Universal truth, awaken to the “Law of Life” that simultaneously permeate the universe and the individual self, experience wisdom, compassion, and courage.

Achieve your potential as a human being and awaken your heart of wisdom. Visualize a new story that transforms your life and co-create a culture of loving kindness, compassion, and understanding that will transform society.

Overall, the Seven Steps will develop your awareness and self-identity, enhance the quality of your life, and contribute to the realization of your dreams. In summary, the long-term goal of this Chap-Book and corresponding seminars and webinar are to establish the Value of Woman’s Work and empower a new generation of Black Women who will transform the world.

The second objective of this book is to reaffirm the role of women in society. We are the guardians of culture, which ensure the perennial nature of humanity. Join me as we create a vision of Womanist Leaders through Poetry and Talk.

An important aspect that will aid your Personal Transformation is the creation of an Empowerment Journal. Use it to reflect on the poetry and the step at the end of each chapter. In addition, you can create a video, visual art or poetry piece and write an excerpt that defines your benchmarks, goals, and stages as you progress through the Chap-Book.

You can post your reflections on my Facebook page; Womanist Empowerment or my Blog womanistempowermentseries.com.
